Sake Event Specialist (SES) Certification is a 4 day course that will teach restaurant owners, general managers, bartenders, or staff to become a Specialist in Sake. Sake Institute of America will teach you about how the many different grades of Sake, Sake Mixology, and Sake Pairing to your menus. As a SES Certified Restaurant you will be able to create many different menus that will wow your client’s palate and more.
The SES Certification course is $1290 or $490 per course. The SES Certification program combines all three courses into one curriculum. SES Certification includes Sake, Course Materials, and meal.
Day 1 Course: Sake no Rekishi (The History of Sake)
- Discussion on how Sake is made.
- Education about the Sake Breweries
- History of Sake
- Grades of Rice and Filtration of Sake
- Discussion of Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, Dai Ginjo, Aged Sake (Dessert Sake), Nigori Sake, and Sparkling Sake
- This includes tasting of all sakes to discuss within the course
- Discussion of Sake Accessories
- Meal is included
Day 2 Course: Sake Mixology (How to make Mixed Drinks using Sake)
- How to make Saketinis
- How to make Sake Infused Drinks
- How to infuse Sake by itself
- Drinks and Meal are included
Day 3 Course: Sake Pairing (How to create Menu and pair it with Sake)
- Discussion of Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, Dai Ginjo, Aged Sake (Dessert Sake), Nigori Sake, and Sparkling Sake
- Understanding Palate of Each Sake on how it pairs with food.
- Discussion of Creating Menus that compliment the sake
- Meal and Drinks are included
- Creating Budget for your event
- Determining Quantities of Sake for an event
- Planning your Sake Pairing Event
Day 4 Course: You have to host a Sake Pairing Event and presentation
- You will communicate to Japon Bistro’s Chefs which menus that the will need to prepare for your Sake Pairing Event.
- Pair the sake with your menu and host a presentation
- Receive SES Certificate as a Sake Specialist through Sake Institute of America
